About Us UPliving.com is owned and operated by my wife, Ingrid Blixt, and me, Nathan Blixt. We first thought of the idea for this website in the summer of 2006. We wanted to travel the Upper Peninsula to see the sights and to meet the people. Both of us are web developers (for two different companies, which is interesting), so naturally we wanted to develop a site to share our experiences with others. We carefully laid out some plans..designs, logos and content..and UPliving.com was born. I have been developing websites since 1995. They weren't very complex or graphical by any means, but they progressed with time. I earned a bachelor's degree in Scientific and Technical Communication from Michigan Technological University in 2001. I worked for several companies after graduating as well as started my own company, BluePX Media. I now work for MediaPro Development in Hermansville, MI. Ingrid grew up in Romania. After graduating with a BFA from University of Art and Design, Cluj Napoca, Romania she moved to the U.S. and since coming here she's been able to play with two of her favorite things : art and websites. She equally dedicates time to both passions: Art helps her design better, web design and programming helps her think better and offers structure for art. She also makes jewelry, photography, teaches occasionally, has workshops, illustrates books and most lately currates the Woerpel Images Arts Gallery. Fun Stuff!
